Don't like to throw a wet blanket on a good(??) deed but, it's not advisable to post all the photos, face book etc. about your missing sister. It is announcing to EVERYONE this is a rebel girl on the loose and her parents don't know where she is or where she is going. In otherwords predators are looking for foot loose kids, especially a very attractive one. The fact that she is small, slim makes her a bigger target. I think you shouldn't have her name on the posters - just say my sister or family is looking for her at most. Any stranger to come up and call her by name - will make her think she knows them in a casual way.

a long time ago I was very slim and barely 5 ft. tall and trying to look older and street wise - I sure wasn't. I dodged bullets several times but, could have been seriously harmed, kidnapped or dead..

i hope you find her soon, it's a good bet she is with the other girl.

We pretty much finished up our Chicken Coop project yesterday (Repairs & Run)-- YAY!
Minus a couple little things we need to do, but least we were able to get them in - Sadly it's raining today now, so they cant go outside =(
So here's the Finished Coop-

Chicken Run area - 10x12

Inside the Coop 10x14... Left side will be nesting boxes when they are at that point

They LOVE the amount of space they have to Run & Exercise

Barred Rock was the first one out - Followed by a couple others - Rest were too Chicken to go out...hahaha

so far, they are very much enjoying the "space" they have to play around in & do what they do =)

Very nice LMB!!! I'm DYING to get ours finished so I can just relax with my chickens for crying out loud!

Yea, it's nice having a bigger area... my mom & son can now go out & visit with them. When the other shed had to duck & step over boards to get into... had a very small square to go through.. I have a container in there that can sit on, so we can visit with them... even tho I still sit on the ground.. to be more their level, to try & work with the D'Uccles at being less "skitish" around us. They're getting a little better tho =)

Yes, when it rains I'm the only one who can see the chickens because I won't allow the kids in the coop. It is only 5x7' and they make a disastrous mess of their shoes. I have Bogs - they're my chicken boots; virtually indestructible and I hose them off when they're icky. Poor chickens are all cooped up this week though! That's why I NEED VelvettFog NOW! LOL

Hello all,
I am just throwing this out there since everyone is so helpful, in this group.

Looking for a shed type coop. Willing to pay reasonable price and willing to travel a bit to get one that works for us.
Feel free to PM me, if you have info.
THANKS!!!

So cute. A few of my chicks are definintly starting to cackle instead of chirp. It's subtle but so neat to see the transformation.

I took them out, yesterday, and spent all day with them in the garden. They would explore then come back every so often to rest under my chair, then back again to explore. Was really nice to have them outside for so long. Today, they are cooped up inside the garage in their brooder and I think they are going 'stir crazy'. I'm throwing in some treats to keep them occupied.

I loved the Sunshine....but liking the rain today for a bit of a lazy day!
Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Guess I should throw this out there for those of you without little ones running around: My Black Australorp is for sale. She's 6.5 weeks old, hatch date 4/4; asking $10 just to cover her feed. She is healthy and nice to adults. Please take her, I don't want her to be dinner :(

Your very lucky she didnt get his eyes, but with that said I would give her a chance she is young and he is young. It might have been to much on her today to loose the others. Im pretty sure everyone will tell you to get rid of her but I wouldnt just yet. How old is she?
Not everyone!
She is 6.5 weeks old. Yes, both incidents happened after the other 4 left, including her sister from the incubator.

As a mom with little kids and chickens, I would say give her a second chance (in a while she'll be fatter for the stew pot anyway).
