The automatic door opener is solar powered!

What brand did you buy? I want one so bad. We're going on a 10-day vacation this summer. We bought a nipple system because of that and it works AWESOME. Now, we just have to figure out what to do for the door-to-the-coop thing. I'll find someone to check in on the chickens each day, but I doubt I'll find someone who'd be happy to open a door each morning and close a door each evening.

Okay, I've never heard a chicken sneeze before, but that's what it looked like! Bob made a sound similar to a goose honk, so I looked up and saw him dipping his head and then shaking it while "honking." A sneeze????

Today, nothing on the agenda! Hooray! I'm still sitting in my bed with 3 kids reading books. LOVE me a laid back day! We'll be finishing our home-school lessons today and then ready for summer!!!

That is a bit small, which can cause stress and fighting. It might be enough but if you can go bigger, bigger is always better, as far as it goes with happy chickens.

Hello all my Washington friends. A lot has happen in my neck of the woods prairie since the last time I was on. I have sold all my Chickens, sold all but one of my rabbits (she is sick), had a huge garage sale (made over $500) celebrated our youngest sons 6th brithday, celebrated our 16th year of marriage and I possible/potentially have a job out there. The job is not in Washington but close in Oregon. My brother lives in Camby and has told me that they do hire family members where he works and they always have openings. Just need to finish the RV and we will be on the Oregon trail. We still have our sights on Northeastern Washington it will be easier to find land when we were are closer.
