Actually, we are looking for silkies for one of our 4-H families!!! I didn't realize you had any silkies! We were going to take Robin's splash silkie roo for them, but not sure if that's going to happen. We would love to take your's if he's available! And I will check with them to see if they want any of your others.
I can go take a look and see if I have any silkie/sizzle cross out there I dont want. I let 3 go last weekend wish I would have known.

Oh I forgot to post that I have a few boy bantam ameraucana's if anyone is interested... CR?
I know I have a black and maybe a blue too...

I really gotta sit down with the bugs and figure which ones I'm keeping vs which ones need to sell.

Hi Heather, thank you so much. I may actually try to use you....LOL. Actually he went before Judge Rawson. Dale (my husband) went to prosecuting attorney and explained to him that even though this is the first time David had been "caught" he has been doing a lot of binge drinking until he blacks out and that we were worried for him. So the prosecuter shared this with Judge Rawson. Between this information and what the report said the judge decided to hold DAvid for the weekend, $2500 bail (we are not bailing him out) and court Monday morning.

David was so drunk he wandered into a local home (the doors were unlocked), passed out on the couch. The home owner got up and found him there....The home owner called the police and got out his shot gun. Had David so much as twitched...the home owner would have shot David.

We hope that David will get some help. He is showing all the signs of an alcoholic. We are very scared for him.

Where is he getting the booze ???????????????????????????????????????????

I'm amazed. Dave is a machine! He arrived, got his trailer set up, and immediately got to work unloading tools and lumber. After surveying the site for a minute he got to work and after only an hour or so building we have walls! My kids were quite the helpers. Hopefully I can keep them out of the way better tomorrow.

He is so sweet !

Hi,
New to BYC and stumbled on this thread. I live near Lake Tapps, between Auburn and Puyallup. I started this year with 10 call ducks to use for herding practice with my dogs. I have 2 australian shepherds and a border collie. I had heard that Calls wouldn't actually hatch babies so I didn't worry about having any babies. Stupid me! I've had 36 babies this year. I now have 13 young ones in the brooder and 8 adults in the pen. I've been so fascinated with the whole baby thing that my dogs haven't worked the ducks since Oct and I've now built and extra pen for next year's babies. Anyone else in the area raising calls?
You need runner ducks for herding, not call ducks.

I think we got to 56 today .... brrr. My sister called me from her home about an hour north of Sacramentto and it was 102. I prefer something right in the middle.
It cleared up & was 80 here all day~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~wow.
Now tonight will cloud over & be a drizzly 45 for days...............

That's such a strange requirement. What brilliant politician came up with that one? Seriously - who writes code down to 1" inch beneath a small outbuilding? It's a good thing they removed that requirement. That would have been silly and difficult to control.

Sorry about your rooster.

Their rules sound very close to Auburn's rules. What are the set-backs? Ours is 15 feet. That's how the city controls chickens in what I term the "McMansion" lots (really big houses on 5,000 sq. foot lots). There's not enough room to accommodate set-backs so those houses can't have them.

In Auburn, we have to have a 6,000 square foot lot before we can get 3 birds. The rest is the same as your area.

In Auburn, chickens have been illegal for so many years, getting neighbors on board with the idea has not been easy. I still chat friendly with my neighbors, but I can tell they don't like them. Only 1 neighbor, a German lady, was excited to see them. Most of the neighbors are nice about it (I got criticized by one gal, but, whatever - I can't seem to do anything right by her anyway). I can tell the other neighbors really aren't comfortable with it. I could have 6 on my lot, but we started out with 3 for that very reason. I'm keeping them pristinely clean - hoping to change whatever preconceived ideas that they have about them. Why is it that having a chicken as a pet seems to be such a scary thing to people? I'd rather meet someones chicken than the many pit bulls we have in our neighborhood.
One inch of clearance under a chicken coop is absolutely PERFECT for rats to get under & make their nests.
I am so glad I am in the Wilderness.
