I'm not too far from you. I live in Auburn and grew up next to Lake Jane in Bonney Lake.

I'm not raising calls, but your story gave me a chuckle. I'd probably do something like that. I recall asking my husband many years ago if we could get a few cute little bunnies. He was like, um "No!" Then proceeded to tell me that it would be impossible to get rid of all the babies.

My husband used to keep some game birds (can't remember which bird) to train his French Brittany to retrieve and to have a "soft mouth". I don't think he ever ended up dealing with babies though. That was many years ago when the dog was a puppy. He passed away at 15. Gosh, I think I'm aging myself.

T-Hi is in Bonney Lake & does have Runner ducks

Well sounds like today may prove to be interesting ! DW just got a call her son (26) cut his foot? ankle? leg? with a chainsaw last night surgery at noon today!

Sounds like he didn't learn from all my preaching about "it's too dark to be cutting wood."
Just the way I wanted to spend my day.

At first I thought you were talking about your daughters!

But for chickens, that does not sound good. So far I have not had to deal with illness among my flock, but I heard that chickens don't get colds. I hope it is not as serious as I fear. Did you recently introduce any new birds to your flock?

Field Birds can introduce it, and so can biting insects pass "it" around.

Hi, was wondering if anyone here either has, or knows someone who has, an incubator full of eggs due soon? Or at least due sooner than 21 days from now. And would be willing to sell me a few. I want some for my broody that have already had a head start. I live in Kenmore, will drive anywhere within "eggs won't get too cold" distance (30 min?) You cannot take eggs out of an incubator & transport them .

if she has been sitting long enough..... i would just put day old chicks under her....
that will be much easier to find then someone willing to give up almost ready to hatch eggs.... Plus the transporting of the eggs at that stage would most likely kill them by bouncing them enough to rip a blood vein or something.

Sneak them under her while she's sleeping? What about the chicks? Would they readily accept their new adoptive mama? I can call a couple feed stores and see who has the youngest chicks.

Man, I really had beginners luck with my first hatch! It went so well. The 2nd hatch only sucked because I effed up during the hatch (like, literally as everyone was zipping was when the disaster happened) but I at least got 5 survivors out of a couple dozen eggs. and now it looks like this hatch rate will be a big fat 0

Sneeking the babies in with a red flshlight lens works best, but understand that she WANTS BABIES!!!!!!!!!!
