Whenever we eat squash or pumpkin, I take the seeds and rinds and an over-ripe banana or whatever else is on hand and run it all in the food processor. All my chickens go crazy for it! Olivia even tried some and thought it was tasty.I have all new girls since the last of my "old" girls passed on. So I may have to try the pumkin again. My old girls turned their beaks up at it.
And I will say that fruit makes my girls have the runs too. Mine get it from watermelon.
How do you serve the cherries? Cut up or whole?
I don't use the Wazine first - I went straight for the Eprinex. I thought maybe since Eprinex is topical it may be slower acting than ivermectin so they are not getting a huge dose at once. I don't know if it is true, but I have never had a problem. I also heard that Eprinex does not have a withdrawl time, but I feed the eggs to the dogs for a week starting a couple days after I use the Eprinex. Maybe it helps the dogs too, but I bet the dose is too small.I always been told that WAZINE and others. have an egg withdrawl of about 2 weeks!!
Mine aren't laying yet, good thing! I still don't know if I will worm now...I just scooped poop from everywhere, lots was fresh and nothing had worms :-/

I use to do our goats fecal test all the time. Got trained by a vet the only thing I couldnt tell some types of the worms. Wonder if I could do it for chickens, Ive got a great microscope to use...Worms cannot be seen usually by the naked eye.
The worms are far up in the body & do not get poo'd out unless they are dead, and usually if dead they are dugested by the bird's intestines.
Worms have been known to get into the ovaduct, and have a calcium/shell form around them.
Adult parasitic worms lay microscopic eggs that are passed off in the feces.
To tell for sure if the birds (or any animal) has worms, you need a fecal exam from a vet.
They supply a small tube, you scoop fresh poo in it, and they send it to a lab for exam under a microscope to see if there are any, and exactly what they are.
I LOVE pickled Herring (mom is from Holland so I ate it and salty black licorice like candy - yum!)Getting any smoked Halibut ?
