Buttttt June ain't over yet, so how can they ?

I use to do our goats fecal test all the time. Got trained by a vet the only thing I couldnt tell some types of the worms. Wonder if I could do it for chickens, Ive got a great microscope to use...
My microscope is packed away in CA.............Maybe Ogress can do it, she is the microbiologist here !

Quote: I always been told that WAZINE and others. have an egg withdrawl of about 2 weeks!!

Mine aren't laying yet, good thing! I still don't know if I will worm now...I just scooped poop from everywhere, lots was fresh and nothing had worms :-/
You won't see worms in the poo unless the birds have a MASSIVE overload of parasites. We live in too wet of an area to not worm our birds....

Thank you, I think I'm going to wait this time since they are only 2.5-3mo old right now, and worm them at 6mo right before winter. That would put them being wormed at about October 1? Sound about right?
Yep!

Oh good lord...I read this too fast, and somehow saw "sweaty meats" instead of "sweet meats"...ROFL...must've been flashback from that movie I saw last night!!

After posting all the stuff coming out of both ears, I want to add the rest which is coming out of my...................................strawberries the size of golfballs or bigger AND raspberries.........oh where is Eenie >|???? She should have razzleberries too !
And Imp !!
he has razzleberries !

Question: Will two 11-week-old small Marans be fine together in the outside hutch overnight in low 50 degree temps? There's an almost fully enclosed area, and an area with an open front (wire). They know each other and I'm sure will huddle but I'm worried because they are in the hutch inside the run instead of in the coop with everyone else. I know I need to stop worrying but please assure me they'll be ok!

Also...do Marans run small? The 3 I have (which are each crossed with an EE by coincidence!) run very small for their age. Will they catch up or are Marans smaller birds than the rest of my LF breeds?
Marans are not "small" birds, by comparrison, Ameraucanas are lighter.
Crossing the 2 will give you a lighter bird than a pure bred Marans.

Got done a little while ago vaccinating chicks for Marecks with cflaming her DD, and SadieSue. Did 44 birds in just under an hour. It was great having all the helping hands to get it done fast. And it was way more fun than doing it alone! Thanks ladies!
Carol, you left your syringes here. I will get them back to you! I can drop them by your place and see your coops AND your horses!! We will probably need them next spring at least, right?

Oh, and I got rid of two of my white silkies, but somehow I ended up only being down one. I can't figure out thos chicken math!
Thanks for the Silkie Dana! He( I am pretty sure now too) is doing fine. Very mellow! Oh and I am going to have a good dinner tonight with some good wine to go with it!
We did sort of a trade, instead of me just pawning 2 of mine off onto her! Lol!

I really hope one of those whites is a girl!

Hope everyone is enjoying this Pac NW weather we are having!

So tired of the wet stuff!
I remembered my stuff after I got the clucks home. Thanks for organizing the chicken clinic. So much more fun than going it alone.

The chickens all look great and none the worse for wear. Would love to have you come by. In a few weeks we'll be loaded with blue berries.

Hope you get some nice girls too.
