Forgot to say I have giant strawberries and rasberries coming out of my nose...and zuchinni and snow peas and lettuce & radishes coming out of my ears !

These are 2 yr old mammoth June -bearing strawberries I got starts from WA4-HPoulltryMom.......massive berries !

Nice, lucky you they look really good

THANK YOU!!! Question: Can I simply put the birds back on medicated starter/grower until they lay and forgo the Corid in the water entirely? Or should they have a good strong dose of Corid one day, then go to medicated feed?
Just put them back on the food it should be fine. How long have they been off of it by the way?

CR I have some white plastic roofing stuff that kind that is wavy, how do I cut it to short lengths. Or should I say how should my husband cut it to shorter lengths?
I'm going to build a smaller coop and have most of the stuff but need hubby to cut the T1-11 for me and the plastic stuff. Oh because I'm a girl...
Well not sure if you are talking about fiberglass, polycarbonate or lexan. But should be able to cut all of those with a fine tooth circular saw OR a good sharp utility knife.

What did I say? I never swear or use bad language...

I feel awful if I actually wrote something that even BYC considers bad! I think I just said ticked off, or angry...
The filters are VERY tight since the upgrade.

Long time it seems. When the big girls hit 8.5 weeks old I put them on Scratch and Peck Grower (per S&P website instructions). They are now almost 14 weeks, so they were off it for 5 weeks (seems longer!). I think I'll just stick to medicated from now until we see an egg in 6 weeks or so. Hoping that will be enough to help the whole flock stay healthy.

Any idea how much feed I should expect to need for a dozen pullets for 6 weeks? They just ate about 10lbs of feed in 4 days...I'm trying to see if I should get another bag of the medicated feed. Guess that's about 100lbs if consumption stays steady. I need another bag. Yep.

Why does the protein content go way down in Layer feed? I know they need more calcium and see the need for that particular boost, but shouldn't protein be a big part of *anyone's* diet, especially a laying hen?

Thanks. If my OLDEST are 13.5 weeks old and my youngest are 11 weeks, do I continue the starter/grower feed until first egg and then switch everyone, or do I just continue until I run out of that feed (while providing oyster shell and other calcium to the early layers) and then switch everyone? I could see the feed I get lasting until the younger birds are 20+ weeks...

Well, I thought Buttercup was 100% when we left for Oregon on Friday, but she was back to laying on her side and not breathing well again today. :(

She died an hour ago.....the family taking care of my birds sent me a message today.
