When I was a kid yeah just last week. I would have night mares that included a spider. It was most common when I was sick and it was always the same. In the dream/nightmare I would always be in my bed. There was a BIG spider up in the corner near the ceiling and the walls were all moving closer together forcing me and said spider closer and closer. Then for some reason I would always wake before the spider got much closer than about 2' from my face.

To this day I do still rarely have that same dream/nightmare. As for spiders I am not real fond of them but as long as they aren't in my house or work space I will leave them. Bats is my bad thing. Now ya wanna see Da Fat Kid FREAK OUT ! ! ! ! Me in close proximity with bats not a pretty sight and things are gonna get destroyed by the time I can escape or kill said huge vicious critter. They seek me out and I have witnesses.
No spider nightmares for me , but I did have a witch-thing under my bed...see when you turn off the light a space-door would open up under the bed.
This witch creature could grab your over-hanging foot or arm & drag you into the hole under the bed.
TO THIS DAY I NEVER let a foot or arm hang over the edge of the bed !!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously !

Do you have any pictures? I'd be interested in hens and I already have a rooster, so another would not work.
I'll try and get some pictures. Don't know how to do it myself. If you want them and they turn out to be roo's., I'll take them back and just bring them to Monore

question~ since I am a new chicken owner, less than a month...
Do you all let your chickens free range in the rain? Do they have a problem with being wet? I mean I always leave the cage open so they can go in whenever they want, but are there any issues with letting them freerange in the wet? Do they catch colds or anything like that?

I let mine out for a little while. They don't seem to mind as long as it's not pouring. I don't think they get sick from being wet. But mine get out of the rain when they are tired of it.

I don't have a covered run and my birds free range every day rain or shine..... If they get tired of getting wet they go into my greenhouse, under my house or in the goat pen.......
I have never had any issues with them getting wet but if their coop gets wet and what ever bedding gets wet then you can have problems. (Mine is completely enclosed)

JennS was it you that wanted to see the Splash AM's? I did post photos... dunno if the people who wanted to see them saw it...

Maybe? I can't remember. This past week or so is a blur with all that's been going on, and I've barely started my coffee this morning. (My son let me sleep in, yay!)

If it was me, thank you for posting them! I'm sorry I kept you waiting. I have finally worked out most of the birds I am getting. I couldn't find a Polish, so I am going with lavender Orpingtons instead. I hope I have a good hatch rate.

Just checking since I could not remember who asked for the photos of the splash babies. well except WA4-H :D

Just in case I forgot to mention it Goliath is a Lavender Split which means he will throw both black and lavender babies.

Okay, he's going on Craigslist later today, but I'm offering him to WA BYC'ers at a discounted price. "Mr. Darcy" our blue 100% imported English Orpington needs to find a new home. I want to get his girls integrated into the main flock and he seems to be preventing that by being the leader of his own little trio.

I've been taking him into the garage at night so he doesn't bother the neighbors in the morning with his melodic deep, throaty crow. Once he rejoins the flock, he only crows 3 or 4 times. I did discover this morning however, if another group of birds is being given treats and he feels he's being denied, that he will crow in protest. It was kind of funny.

When I carry him into the garage at night, he's unhappy about being snatched from the girls out of the darkness but settles easily with a little petting and sweet talk.

I'm quite fond of him. He would be a great addition to anyone's flock, but it would be nice if he had some Orpington girls to be with. Although he is protective, he has never been aggressive. At 4 months he is larger than any of my other LF and still has a lot of growing and filling out to do. I think he's beautiful.
PM me if interested - I'd love to see him go to someone local so I can keep track of his progress!

Mr. Darcy, a little suspicious...

Keeping himself between me and "his girls"

Feeling a little less threatened
