So I'd ordered some 20x30 pond netting to put over the chicken run and keep my stupid birds from flying out. I think I love that stuff. It's very strong and tough compared to the bird or deer netting they sell at the home improvement stores. It actually stretched over the whole run which is essentially 16x32.5. Made me very happy. I thought I was going to have to put a small chunk of different netting at the very end.

We're going to make a pvc arch over the run so that we can tarp the one end so water and snow will slide off. We're thinking of putting field fencing over the top as well that will be under the tarp. The netting will be staying too, to keep out the small birds. I'll eventually get netting down all the sides to keep them out as well.

We're planning out how we are going to build the new enclosed coop in their shelter area. That will end up being 8x16. I'm plotting how I want to paint it and I'm already finding a few decorations I'd like for it. (Amazon is a bad, bad place for me)

I think this would be great to have on it. I can teach them to come to the sound of the bell.




I've also found some cool chicken and rooster wall hooks that would be great for hanging some of the scoops and such off of. My DH just keeps giving me that look when I say "oh look what I found. Wouldn't this be cute for the coop?"

Yeah, I think 20 gal tank would be OK for 3-5 chicks for a few weeks. I usually have to keep them until they are large enough to integrate, so I use an XL dog crate. The only issue I have heard about aquariums is that they can hold heat in (solid walls)

That was the problem I had with the rubbermaid tub I used for the first week. I think I almost cooked my babies!

Renee!! I wish I had a freaking car today, I would drive to Lacey in a heartbeat for them!!!! gah!!! This sucks.

I know! I wanted them, too. But, there's no way I'm spending the gas to go to Lacey.

40 gal no, but I think we have a 20 or 29 gal along with a box full of fish stuff I'd be happy to give you if your interested. Let me double check with DH to make sure we have it still and I'll get back to you if your interested. PM me.

I'm going to google where Kelso is. If the gas won't cost too much, I'm interested. 20 or 29 would be better than 10.

I do not think that FireWifeJess was trying to puch anything on you. But belifes are things everyone is Passionate about no mater what you do or do not belive in, and when one talks about things they are Passionate about they spill their heart as they see it. I have on several occations had people try their hardest to push their religion on me (as I do not belive in God) and I have become very good at deturing them polightly if they are being polite and in no way do I think FWJ was going there, she was just speeking from her heart as she sees and feels!

Why is it shocking that I compare grounding to prison?

I always referred to the crib as "baby jail". And there were times they got put there because they couldn't stay out of trouble.
