I'd consider putting them in the dog crate (which is an xlarge wire dog crate) on the deck, but I'd be worried animals (cats, racoons, etc...) might try and get to my baby chickies :bitesnails:

Quote: The Red Tailed Hawked used to get some of the flock that we kept back in 1997 to 2000. The kids would find a carcass of one of the chickens. The hawks would just leave a ripped up body behind. My DD would get so mad at the hawks. She didn't mind the coyotes as much, because they would simply take the whole bird and disappear. She didn't have to deal with the body when the coyotes were on the hunt. We were free ranging back then. We didn't have a lot of losses, but there were a few. We were living east of Vancouver WA, on 5 acres, and we were surrounded by undeveloped acreages. We loved it there.

I was at the Urban Farm Store in Portland a couple days ago and I seem to remember them having the golden sex links. It's (quite) a bit of a drive, but if you're like us, we love mini road trips. I have two barred rock and two RIR reserved for me to bring home in the next few days. I've been trying to find two golden sex link that are roughly the same age (1 week) with no luck
Yes, it did. I figured I could find them a homeSo you don't think 4+ week old chicks would be able to utilize the different levels??
I must say that it is a very cool cage. I would grab it if you don't. lol So go get it...Um, and I think I want that multilevel animal cage now just because it's free LOL I'm sure I could find some friendly critter to inhabit it... hell, I bet the rats aren't all that bad actually. My boys would find them amusing I'm sure. I can't guarantee my cats wouldn't be a little more than interested either though....
