From Cheney (west Spokane area and home of EWU). Currently have 6 week old Buff Orps, one for each of my kiddos; Dog, Tweaty, Bella, and Spiderman. Then 2 2-week-old RIRs that are my babies named Lovely and Jo (short for Jolan), named after two precious girls I met this summer on a trip to Haiti.

Welcome from the soggy side. Feel free to jump in and add anything you want to the thread, or ask any question. When in doubt we are more than willing to give some fairly good ideas. There are a number of members from the dry side of the state.

Love the critter castle! I can't wait to finally get started on our coop.. I'm growing impatient. First I need to level the back part of the yard!

Whoah! I'm shocked at the color of the BluKote! Holy cow! I managed to keep the damage just to my hands and their bottoms (though a few sprays ended up on their bodies; they're gonna look crazy!) I hope that takes care of whatever is bothering both of their bottoms. Near the end of the day when I finally managed to get close enough to the EE she also had bare red patches on her skin. Thinking antibiotics and BluKote for a while? I'm sure they're fine, couldn't be that bad since it doesn't seem to bother them at all, even when I touched it. Thoughts anyone?
Blu-Kote is antiseptic and antifungal.

I know I'll get a wide range of answers to 'how many nesting boxes should I have?'... so let me just ask this: Should 1 nesting box per 2 birds be sufficient?

Half of the "nasty little dogs" are now back with their forever people. It could be rather quite around here in the coming days. That is probably a good thing since, I now have to pull the kitchen apart.
