Whats the poultry auction like at the Enumclaw Sales Pavillion? I want to go one Saturday but not sure if its worth it. What kind of information is provided with the birds?
Little to none.
Quite honestly I would not buy at an auction unless you just want dinner but even then it is cheaper and easier to buy processed birds at the store. Livestock auctions in general are little more than a dumping ground.

CR,

Ya gots to get that pen! We want you stayin' here with us!

I'd hate to think of you needing that pen and not having it. Did you look on Amazon and Craigslist?

I also don't spend a fortune. I've found great ways to save! Bountiful Baskets provides a good portion of our fruits and veggies each week for negligible cost ($16.50/wk). I buy meat in bulk and freeze in family size portions. I shop for seeds/nuts, almond/coconut flour, canned goods, trail mix, some meat, frozen veggies at WinCo, their prices are fantastic! I try not to buy too many Gluten Free alternatives because they are pricy; instead we switched to a Paleo diet which has no processed foods, just meat, fish, eggs, fruits/veggies, seeds, nuts. That's about it! Just like Holly said, we don't swing into McDonald's or fast food almost EVER; it's hard, but we make it work. I think, on average, just to placate the kids and have something truly naughty every once in a while we might get Teriyaki from Pho or something like that once a month. If you're looking for a truly healthier lifestyle of eating, check into the following cookbooks: Make it Paleo, Everyday Paleo, and Paleo Comfort Foods.

Cloverleaf, we aren't sure yet if we are going to the show, but would really like too! If so, I can take Eliz Martin her faverolle for you. I will keep you posted. We will probably decide for sure tomorrow. If we don't go, I have a friend from Stanwood who for sure going, and I could ask him to get him for her too.

CL, I want in on those nasties too!!!!

Awesome, Tamara!! I'll keep you in the loop! Thanks!!

How long would you all wait before allowing the rest of the healthy girls out in the yard? DH went out and put the hose on the contaminated area for several hours today. a LOT of water was used to wash away the poison. I just don't know how long to wait. I'm so scared another one will die over this whole poison issue. And since I don't even know if it was, truly, the problem, I don't know what to do. Eesh I'm really freaked out.

for an epi pen?! Are you looking into it because you've been stung so many times? Are you becoming allergic?

Yup See in July and early August I took about 60 stings. All but were at the elbow area of my right arm. Not just 1 or 2 at a time noooooo it was more like 10-15 at a time. Yess the last time I started sweating real bad and got short of breath. Actually it made pretty scared in fact to the point that I mentioned during a Dr visit and he told me what 2 OTC meds to carry and take take them AS SOON as I get stung . Then if still a reaction use the pen and call 911. Well I am forced to function on a little different plan.

Be careful CR!!! Our neighbor has bee's, and when they were harvesting last week, he got stung 4 times on one arm. It swelled up something awful! He as on a bunch of stuff for it!!!! So yes, tell them girls how it is and to leave you alone!!!!!
4 stings on one arm??? The worst I have had at once is only 16 on my right arm in the elbow joint. Also the plant plantain is VERY good to help with sting relief. Crush it to make juice and spread on the site.

Thanks No I have not thought to check since it is by RX. I will just continue to say my special words (aka prayers) and hope that combined with luck will keep me safe.
