UE. I read ahead and you got good advice. I agree isolation is the best.
It's hard sometimes but the alternative is worse.

Chickens can be so much like people it amazes me.
After I got chickens I started noticing that a lot.

I use to raise Discus fish and it was same deal every once in a while I had a fish that did nothing else but harass the others.

Woohoo! DH just finished putting a rain gutter on the coop, on the side where the coop meets the run. That way all the water won't run off the coop straight into the run.

Now I need to rake all the straw out of the run and start fresh. Gotta get me some gloves and my crazy muck boots. Too bad the kids are up, I can't do that until later. DH is also going to put a hook under the poop board in the coop, so I can keep a feeder in there. Should help them out in the mornings when the light is on in the coop and they're awake and hungry, but the food is still in the run. Now there will be food in coop and run.

WOW! I was bad and didn't catch up on my chicken reading this week and am 1,000 pages (eta: oops, posts not pages lol) behind!!!

I have to send my warm thoughts out to those of you who have lost chicken members, that is so sad

I have to say, we were bad/lazy/unmotivated and still haven't finished the Coop d'Jenkins. I guess it is a good thing I haven't gone chick crazy yet

and just ordered a bunch of them with no place to put them!! Dang rain, couldn't you hold off for two more weeks????!

Sheesh guys! I'm never gonna catch up on the posts they way everyone is chatting up a storm.

The girls are enjoying their first day of rain. Drama's wearing muck boots. Poor Drama. Nothing yet in the bator.
