Blackie says "Hey mom, shall I engage them in a game of duck, duck, goose?" which translates to mean shall I peck everyone on the head and run?

"Dude! Check it out... someone took a turd!"

Yup. Twins seem to run in this family. First came the human form, now there's the chick form. This time, mom doesn't know who is who. Hopefully the kids can figure it out.

COLD, windy & monsooning here again !

Carne Asada for dinner...............
I got a few BIG beef round roasts a few days ago at $2.69 a pound, and grind them for lean ground beef (love my grinder)
So kept 2 pounds of the roast for Carne Asada, and ground the other 4 pounds for lean ground beast.

Extra Lean Ground Beast has been @ $4.99 a pound out here lately............

DH is out scouting for deer...................we got a decent look at the "dead deer" that was stinking up behind the house, and it looks to be an elk calf....no spots, but still young.

great idea and would make awesome SOS. oohhhh, that sounds really good. Oh yeah, when I shop at the IGA they will grind/or tenderize any roast or boneless steak that I want. I have them run round steaks through the tenderizer twice and make country steak or chicken fried steak.

Quote: Don't need grit if they are just eating chick starter. If treats are given then they should get chick grit.

They're just eating chick starter. I didn't give my first girls treats until they were about 12 weeks old. I was thinking of doing the same thing here... unless I should be giving them treats earlier than that. Should I?

There is some great wheel barrels at Del's Feed I saw yesterday that have 2 front tires, so do not tip as easily as a 1 tire model.

Didn't get the price though................

I think it was 90 bucks when we bought one last year but I'm not really sure now. I LOVE it. Makes moving heavy loads so much easier to move. It doesn't unbalance very easy either. I want another one. We always need two wheelbarrows. The old one we have is one wheel. I've dumped so much stuff on accident. The two wheel one just handles weight so much better.

They have them at Coastal Farm as well.

so I'm thinking of putting together a canning recipe book for a small group...
Would anyone care to PM me their old family recipes for anything?
Mainly canning/preserving but I might make a section of the old family recipes like bread and meals.

I will send out a PDF of the "book" to anyone to contributes.
