Wasps and Hornets

So my 5 week old chicks are outside a lot in their coop run during the day. I’ve been noticing a lot of wasps and I’ve just been killing them (got 3 so far). Today I saw 2 hornets making nests inside of my coop and it got me so mad. I was thinking staining the wooden parts of my coop would make it less attractive to bugs, but I don’t know what to do as of now, since I want my chicks to be outside full-time next week.

Get a spray bottle and fill it up with water then add about 5 drops each of lemongrass, peppermint, clove, and geranium oil. That will help to deter them.

Update: When the hornet left I pulled off the nest and booked it.

permethrin spray, the same stuff for lice,mites,ants... I spray the coop, nest boxes every 30-60 days. i haven't seen a bug, wasp, hornet in the coop.
