Watch me grow!

I'm glad you're enjoying it as I am. I can hardly wait for this little one to get big. I can only imagine though when he or she is, I'll be wishing for chicks again.
Isn't that always the way it works?

Silly me, not remembering that we've already decided the chick is a she and named Elizabeth!

I'll make sure when I'm snuggling them today I remind her too.

I'm happy you're following the thread too. I'm going to update again today, this afternoon, when I'm home from work!

Well, the chicks didn't get to spend much time outside yesterday.
It ended up being overcast and breezy, I had to bring them inside before I could take and good shots.
They were peeping their little heads off to get back under their heat lamp!

Here's a couple of our little splash from today, day 15.

Sorry about the shadow, (I actually think it's kind of a cool effect!) look at that comb...

No tail feathers yet.

The blue splashes of color are starting to come in more heavily on the chicks wing feathers.

& it's little feet are turning more and more slate blue each day.

Hopefully I'll get to take the little buggers outside tomorrow, we're expecting nothing but sunshine!

Nice thread, urbanfarmboi! I'm just as excited as you are with your hatch. I just bought 6 chicks from our local feed store today and will be doing the same thing you are but only for myself. I may start a thread as well as my chicks are of a different kind than yours, who knows. Definitely a good thread to watch! Thanks for sharing!

Ken, I'm glad you're enjoying watching the chick grow.

What kind of chicks did you purchase? Feed store chicks can be so irresistible... just peeing there, begging to be taken home!

I'd love to see your grow out thread!

Two each of BR's, RIR's, and Ameraucana's. They were irresistible! That's why I had to ask for forgiveness instead of permission when I got home. He he....

I'd love to see your grow out thread!

Your wish is my command!

My Chick Thread!

No tail feathers and I'm seeing some little pink wattles there Jeremy. I'm betting you have a cockerel there! It's legs (from what I can see) are nice and thick too, which is another cockerel trait.

Great thread, BTW.

Yes Beth, they're adorable.

They're so sweet and peaceful at this age.
Though, they're beginning to be very curious and make high cheeping sounds whenever I approach the brooder.

I noticed that too with this set of pictures... those tiny little wattles starting to hang down.
The splash chick isn't afraid of squat either, very very independent already.
