These pictures were taken yesterday, the chicks are now 3 weeks and 1 day old.
My little splash has feathers sprouting all over, we're now entering the "ugly growth stage"...
I'm thinking it may be a little boy...
See the pink?
Wattles?
I had the chick on a bale of hay taking pictures.
It wouldn't stop peeping and I couldn't figure out why, then it hopped off the hay right into my lap and it became quiet almost right away.
SO cute!
Check out the English Orp thread for pictures of one of my blue chicks!
OMG, I'm so in love with this thread. Your pics are absolutely beautiful, and your little splash is so cute. My 5 babies are supposed to have hatched today, our brooder is ready, and we're waiting on the post office's call. Your thread was exactly what I needed to be able to sleep tonight with all the excitement!
If he is a little roo, I guess you could change his name to Elizabob. Whatever, you are sure getting the stink eye. Mine are just raggy looking, too. I hate this stage- they look like they are coming down with some kind of fungal dreadlock disease.
I like your avatar, too, Jeremy.
I literally just laughed for like 5 minutes out loud... and I'm at work. My coworkers looked at me like I'm nuts. (Partially true.)
The little blue chick did NOT want to be outside taking pictures, I don't know how many I deleted due to blur shots. My splash though has gotten used to being handeled at this point, I'm always trying to get good poses for pictures. So Elizabob is used to it by now!
ETA: Thanks for the compliment about my avatar, I see your now a PPM, congratulations!!! I still have yet to upgrade...
