I am always amazed at what a hen will do to protect her chicks. It brings tears to my eyes to see that fierce spirit.
(Still, seeing a tape of someone sit and watch a hawk go after a hen is a bit hard to take. Not sure if that was staged or what.)

That was a wonderful story. I do think that was filmed to be as a movie, telling a story. It was very well done.
I think the part where he stood in his kitchen watching was staged. The whole video itself was filmed in a professional ( or very well done ametuer, perhaps a film student ) manner. It was edited, and had background music. Someone spent a lot of time on that

Amazing. I can't believe that everyone thinks such ridiculous things about chickens without any sort of knowledge whatsoever. I wonder who came up with the "chicken" saying, I'd like to give him a piece of my mind.

And, yeah, to think that a guy who loved his silkie so much would just stand there and and watch his girl get killed, just "seeing how things will unfold" is really pathetic. Just standing there like " wow, chickens are really brave...*yawn*... I can't believe Liza would do that for her chicks...gosh, what shall I have for dinner?" Rather silly, actually.
