water bottles revisted

To those who have successfully switched your quail over to water bottles...did you remove their other source of water when you introduced to water bottle?

I have a water bottle on the brooder and a few of the jumbos have pecked at it but they primarily are still using the other waterer. I have 3 normal size in the brooder that can't reach the water bottle yet so I can't remove the other waterer yet.

My 3 normal sized look so tiny compared to the jumbo's...they are at least half the size and they are all just about 2 weeks old (on Sat).

As soon as my quail figured out what the bottle was and how it worked, I took the waterer out. I've had no problems and the birds have MUCH cleaner water. I've switched my chicks over, too, and it's working beautifully for them, too.

Are these just like, rabbit water bottles? I need to switch, my chicks are messier than the ducks!

I have to offer both water bottle and quail waterer in my brooder. Because the younger coturnix aren't able to push on the waterbottle ball. So I have no help for ya here. lol! By the time they are out in the breeder pens they for the most part already know about the water bottle and already go to it

I find that as soon as one gets it the rest will so as soon as one starts I take the other water out

Personally all I did was put them into their new cages..and attach the water bottles...they figured it out on their own.
