Debating between cups or horizontal nipples on a bucket for inside the coop and outside, Laying hens are free range in back yard and cooped at night. Is it better to have a hanging water or one elevated on platform. Hens are between 1-2 years old. Currently have 2 gallon bucket with cups in attached picture. Same cups on 5 gallon bucket outside.

I have never tried cups but I use horizontal nipples and love them for my laying flock. When I was researching I saw a lot of people complaining about cleaning out the cups periodically, which is why I went with nipples.

Not only cleaning the cups but the water gets spilled everywhere.
