Is it normal for a hen to drink significantly more water while they are molting? My 16 month-old BR is molting right now and I have noticed her drinking a lot more water. Her stools are watery as well. The only other difference I've noticed is she isn't as interested in the BOSS that they get every afternoon when it's time to go back to their run. She forages normally and seems to be eating her layer pellets. She is at the bottom of the pecking order of my flock of four, but the others aren't keeping her from food and don't seem to be treating her any different even though she is missing half her feathers. I've checked her for parasites (external and internal)...nothing. Any ideas on her new found love of water? Thanks!
