Nice hack for sure. I endedup (well finishing it now) took a piece of 3” pvc about 5 ft long and opened up about 1/4 of it. Gona buy a auto waterig float and support it with some 1/2” plywood so it doesnt fall over. Also putting the drain in so i can clean it out. Once i get done i will post pix. I got the idea from this article and it will be damn close to it...i used a chop saw and skilsaw to do all the cutting ... goin ti hardware store today to get a 3” cap and a 3-3/4 reducer.
