water heaters

I use several low watt (50w - 95w) bird bath heaters in our buckets with nipples. I have a 95 watt flat rubber bird bath heater in our turkeys 5 gallon water tub which is outside and so far no frozen water.

Tonight its getting down to single digits so, I will know in the morning if I need to switch any to higher wattage heaters.

Other ways - I haven't tried but, have read that many people use christmas cookie tins with a 50 watt light bulb inside and set the metal waterer on top. Just drill/cut a hole in tin to get electric cord out. Some drill a hole in the bottom of the coop and run a cord for a light bulb and set a cinder block over it and set waterer on the cinder block.
