water heating element to scald

It happened the first time I tried it, I was given a custom made burner from a friend it was made to boil large 30-40 gal aluminum pot's for crawfish boiling in like 5 minutes. any way it just had one large burner flame nipple on it and I was using a galvanized trash can. I fired it up went to chop heads and heard this whooosh and hiss sound. Looked at it and it had a hole burned in it the size if a half dollar. My guess was it was to powerful and worked like a cutting torch on that flimsy trash can. Just sayin is all, ripley's believe it or not.

40 ga to 212 degreesl in 5 minutes? What kind of fuel did that burner use? Jet fuel? No wonder it burned a hole through it. I have been using a galvanized trash can over my weed burner thing and it hasn't gotten anywhere close to putting a hole in it.

He makes a good point. If you stick a balloon with a nail, it will pop. If you press it down on a bed of nails points placed fairly close together, it won't. Or at least, would require a lot more pressure. Has to do with the concentration on a single point rather than evenly distributed over a larger area.

That would be news to Al's wife. Heck I've worked with Al up close and personal. If he's a she, he's done a good job covering it up. He's about as He-Man as they come.

Al, buddy, you got something you wanna tell us?

Oops. You quoted me so I thought you were calling me a he. My weed burner (weed dragon?) only puts the flame in one spot, it isn't evenly distrubuted either. Good example though.
