Water ideas for baby quail

Mine are popcorning all over the place today haha! You walk by the brooder and it’s pop pop pop! We have a cover over it with thin netting so no one hurts themselves lol and mostly so no one gets out!

I came into my office one morning to find 3 older ones had decided to go for a stroll... so I thought ok! Time for that cover!

The Texas even look like popcorn... lol they are so adorable.

For the chicks (and other use) I just drill a hole in the top of a 1 litter bottle and screw in a vertical nipple then add a hole at the bottom of the bottle to fill it with water. I also puch a hole in the center of the bottom and run a nylon string through it (adjustable) as to hang it to whatever height they need. Its fast, simple and easy to refill. I also do this for winter waterer's and just swap them out when they freeze.

But for chicks, they will hit them and it gets kind of water-messy, but its about all you need until they get to the pen. Pretty easy to clean or replace as well since its just plastic. I use a PVC piped water system and 55 (or 5 g as needed) gallon drums for the pens and just drain them in the winter so they don't freeze and burst. But thats for the juvies and adults.
