My 7 week old Pekin duck ended up being in the kiddy pool for over 24 hours. Today I rescued him/her and she can't walk or stand for more than a few seconds. His belly feels very warm and he is breathing a little laboured. What else can I do for it other than letting him dry his feathers, keep getting food and water in him? I feel helpless... Anybody else have this and if so what should I be doing? I love my baby and I want to make him better asap.

Put him under a heat lamp, and if he's still wet, blow dry him with the blow dryer on low. You can still do this, getting underneath his wings. Only for a little bit.

He very well develop pneumonia,,so keep a close eye on him

Welcome to BYC!

He may be suffering from exhaustion and is probably dehydrated. I would get him dried off and in a very quite place. Make sure he is plenty of cool water and you might put something with electrolytes in the water...maybe some pedialyte. Just let him rest and don't mess with him. This morning you might feed him some warm chopped hard boiled egg to help get his blood sugar back up.

I hope the little baby pulls thru.

The little one is probably cold and exhausted. I'm not a duck expert, but I would say get it warmed up at least, for now. I've asked some of my duck owner friends to look in and advice, they should be along soonish. Best of luck!

I agree with the advice already given - likely dehydration, exhaustion, hunger. Lukewarm water, with some electrolytes, get and keep him up to the proper temperature for that age, which would be about 55 to 60 degrees F (90 minus 7 times 5, 90 minus 35, is 55), or a little warmer but you don't want to heat stress him after all this.

Keep in a quiet, safe place, and watch closely. I would not overload with food immediately - make a little bit of good quality food, even grower pellets well moistened so his body doesn't have to work very hard digesting.
