Water mister for free range chickens……

I keep putting my water mister (50 feet) where my chickens tend to hang out during our 100+ degree weather but I have no takers…. Any suggestions? Should it be a specific height?? I’m doing about 4 feet….

It will just make them hotter by matting their feathers.

Wet feathers make it harder for them to regulate their body heat, making them hotter. Instead, offer multiple drinking stations. You can add electrolytes to the water to help them regain energy. Make sure they have plenty of shade, places to dust bathe, and a well ventilated coop. Frozen treats are also a good way to help with the heat and it gives them something to do.
