Water nipple question! Help!

I am in the middle of putting a water nipple in PVC pipe. Do I thread all the way through until there is no thread left or do I thread just until the red screw part is flush on the other side? Thanks

Keep threading until the nipple doesn't move anymore, so that it is pretty tight. I have not used the nipple on PVC but that is what I would do.
