WATER ON HOVABATOR WINDOWS!! DO I WIPE OFF???

I have the humidity up as needed for the last three days of incubation, now there is condensation on the windows of the Hovabator. Do I dare open the windows and wipe clean???
Will water droplets fall on the eggs and cool them?
Help!

That means your humidity is probably too high. Open the two red plugs on the top and it should clear up in awhile.

Thanks Cynthia, I have two humidity meters that say the humidity is bewtween 75-80, so I think that is ok. It is chilly in my house and that is why there is condensation. I do not want to upset the humidity if its right. Dazed, tired and confused!!!

What day of incubation are you on? If it's before day 18, it's actually a bit too high.

My house stays fairly cool where my Hova is and I've never had the windows fog much, so it could be that your humidity is a tad higher than your hygro is reading. Just use your own judgement as to whether you think that's true, easier said than done, I know!

I did drown my chicks last year from this. Half of my batch was lost! My son opened the unhatched (i couldn't do it) and he said they were fully formed chicks, but the egg was full of water. There was condensation on the window, but the hydro read 75 percent.
So I bought another meter of a different brand and the old one actually read 12 points higher.

ok, that convinced me to hurry up, pop out the window , wipe and replace in record time!

DId you just put in water? If you put in warm water, sometimes it will fog up the windows for a few hours. If they STAY fogged up, the relative humidity is too high.

Thank you all for your help. I had added water to get the humidity up, added sponges and added a small dish with water. I tend to over do!
After the earlier replies I decided to wipe the windows and remove the dish of water. This afternoon there was a bit of condensation on the windows, but nothing like this morning. My two hygrometers read about the same, 75%.
