Water porch - Ducks

Thank you, yoyosma!

Do you find the 4x8 size porch to be well sized for you ducks, or is there plenty of extra space? Could you easily imagine 10 ducks sharing that space without injury?

Do they all hang out in the water shed at the same time?

Thanks

You're welcome, Tahai!
They do all hang out in there together; pretty much, they do every thing together!
If you got them all at the same time, 10 light weight ducks (like my WHs) would be OK I think. But I do let my 5 out into two attached outdoor areas during the day- one is maybe 15' X 6', and it leads into a 30 X 30' garden. So during the day, they have all that plus their run/water porch, and coop, to go in and out of (I keep their pellets in the coop to stay dry, and have waterers and a kiddie pool scattered around their area).
I got 4 day-old ducklings, and one died; the replacement 2 came 3 weeks later. The reason I say "if you got them all at the same time" is because even now, when they're 5-6 months old, the older ones can be a little bullying to the younger 2, even though they've been together since the olders were only 3 weeks old. I don't know if that's typical, but that's the way these guys are.

Thanks

When I get my Welsh Harlequins, they will be pastured during the day, and the night coop is 5x7.5, so they will have plenty of room, even without the added water porch. I'm just thinking ahead for when the weather is too nasty to let them out (ie when snow is high enough to short out the electric poultry fencing), which, some winters, could be for a couple of months, and other winters (like this one) could be never.
