Water pot guard fallen off during hatching.

My chicks started hatching in the early hours of this morning, but unfortunately the first little guy to get out their egg has knocked off the water pot guard in the middle my Mini II Advance Brinsea Incubator. If I open the lid, humidity will drop and other chicks that have pipped will be ‘shrink-wrapped’. What do I do?

They're not going to shrink wrap from you briefly opening the incubator to fix it.

Okay. I have just heard from different sources that the membrane dries up in seconds. We’ve had 3/6 hatch so far and so incidents!
