Water system design

So I went and Built myself a water system for the months that are not froze.
55gal drum and the water cups with the yellow tongues inside to make the water come out. System works great besides the few little leaks I have to fix where my cups screw in to the pvc.
My question is what does everyone use to keep algae from growing? Also does anyone put supplements in water on the regular? If so what do you use??

My question is what does everyone use to keep algae from growing?

I keep my 3gal horizontal nipple waterer inside the coop and top it off daily...no algae problems. Just add the heater and insulation for winter. 15-20 birds only drink less than a gallon a day.
If I give Electrolytes and/or vitamins(very occasionally) I use a separate open waterer.
