Can't find my favorite book. What is the ideal water temp for dunking the chickens to pluck. We have a plucker. Starting in 30 minutes or it will be trial and error. You would think after 5 years I would remember. Have to put it in the recipe file

Found it at top of page 140-150 Thanks any way. Love this site.

Yeah that's warm.

When I used to process... I simply skinned them... so much easier!

150 seedmed to be the best temp. Knocked off the first 75 of approx. 200. There is nothing better than home grown chickens. I don't enjoy the processing but knowing what you are putting in your body makes it woth it.

yall say skinning is easyier, i tried to skin 1 and it looked horrible

My husband pheasant hunts and those are skinned but I prefer the skin on birds. One bird was a little hot and the skin was tearing and skinning was a pain. I guess it is all what you are used to. I am old fashioned and skin on is the norm from childhood. Thanks for the input. It was a successful day. I am making notes so I don't forget the layout of tables, tubs, pluckes, cones, ect. I am getting old and next year it will be a vague memory.
