Water, Water, Everywhere!

Yes, our animals often survive our mistakes and learning curves, thank the Lord. It is quite a responsibility, caring for them. I cannot think of any one thing that has done as much for my understanding of how life works.

furbabymum, how are the legs and their owners doing?
They are perfectly fine. You can still tell where the leg bands were. I'm hoping eventually their legs won't look that deformed. They're walking and swimming and acting fine so I think they're ok. Some of them had worse cuts from removal than others but everyone seems to be healing just fine. I think of all of us I'm the most scarred from the entire thing. They were afraid of me before but now it's more like abject terror. Makes me feel awful.

The abject terror phase may be largely due to their age. We had no big issues with our runners, then at about three weeks, suddenly I was treated like an axe murderer. This phase lasted for several weeks, but with the help of Duck Forum members, we got through it.

Wow I LOVE the water ideas! (husband is starting to stress about the mess the 2 ducks are making in the chicken coop!) I had put plastic car matts under the waters hoping for them to catch the dribble some help but not much. Thanks for the ideas!

What forum did you get help from?

Thanks everyone for the great ideas my 2 are just making a unholy mess of the brooder and my darling hubby was really unhappy and rethinking letting me have the ducks.

The water dish in a larger pan works fantastically. Normally they have made a soggy mess out of the whole thing now it's mostly clean and dry I'll know for sure in the morning.

I don't mean to sound silly, but I got help from Duck Forum members.  Like, here.

Yes..I meant like was there a specific thread in this forum? Sorry I didn't clarify better
