Water wiggler question

Does the water wiggler give you an average between your temp swings? Like if my temp goes from 99-101, would it give me 100? They don't sell any near me, walmart just got rid of their dollar section, so I'm trying to figure out if it's worth going out of my way to get one. Is it mostly for peace of mind or does it actually help you dial in a more accurate egg temp?

it gives you the temp inside the egg. and yes 100 would be the average temp. 100 degress. perfect in my book. dollar stores sell them
