didnt get all the help i needed on my other post but i gots another ? what is the best way to water chicks. so they dont drowned. do the founts work

I use the quail waterer that screws on to the mason jar and set it on a saucer to keep the gunk out of it. The narrow lip keeps them from getting into it and getting soaked like they would with the chick version, but gives room for several to drink at once. I tried filling the saucer with pebbles and putting water in that, but they kept fouling it and were still getting themselves wet. I know a lot of people use drip waterers like you use for guinea pigs, but I haven't tried it myself.

Invest in marbles! They are a lifesaver

You can get the chicken mason jar and mount and put marbles in the rim to prevent the chicks from drowning. I use it all the time for 5 years now and it works as a charm. Even button quail and those are tiny tiny

Feedstores carry the waterers and most webstores that deal with poultry. Just look in the poultry waterers and they are there.

I use a shallow tray for the 1st 3-4 days, then move to the mason jar and marbles in the base. Now, and about 2 weeks, they go on water bottles like they have for hampsters and rabbits. It took sticking their beeks in the tube, but it is definitely less messy.

I would use them for about a week then switch over to a roden water bottle.
