I am trying to figure out a way to heat my 10 gallon chicken waterer dome. It is on a stand so a heat plate isn’t necessarily an option

i haven’t had to deal with freezing water too much here in Alabama. My waterer used to be a kiddy pool, so it was big enough to not freeze. But that’s not the case this winter. I am going to try using a fish pond pump to keep the water moving.
If a heater is the only way to go, look for a fish tank water heater. They’re submersible and come in different shapes. Maybe one would work for you.

What does that look like?

And.... how cold does it get where you are?

It might he best if you bring it inside every night. Bring it out every morning. That might be all you need to do.

Or.... when you bring it out in the morning, put it up against a bit of clear plastic or an old window for some solar gain.
