So I have this unit

Which is not working out for me because the dirty water around the ring leaches back up into the main tank. I dump out the outside and dirty stinky water refills the ring.
Would these hold enough water for the ducks to drink out of?

I use vertical nipples in 5 gallon buckets for my hens I could easily make these work then the bowl would be getting fresh water all the time.

At the moment I just use a washing up bowl - they like to eat and drink the same time so put a couple of scoops of wheat in it then fill 1/2 full of water, They scoop up the garain and water at the same time and also drink out it as well. It get dirty and needs changing daily which is a pain so also looking for a feeder/drinker that will last more than a few days

Will they have access to bathing water as well? If so those would be a great option. As long as they have something else that will allow them to submerge their heads.

I looked at getting those as watering attatchments for my ducks as well once I realized there was no way the chicken water would continue to work, but ultimately decided against it because I was concerned they wouldn't be able to clear their nares while eating and could potentially choke. What I ended up using is 2 - 2.5gal galvanized feed pans (very cheap at feed supply store) and a dollar store baby pool.

Those all need changing daily, and at first the seeming water waste stressed me out, but they love it and seem very content so I've gotten over it!
