Waterer

So my husband made me a real nice bucket waterer for the run, but stuff keeps growing inside. Is there anything to put in the water that wont hurt the chickens to prevent this from growing?

What is growing? Is it green algae?
Occasionally, you'll have to empty the bucket and scrub with some bleach.

A tablespoon of raw apple cider vinegar per gallon of water will help keep it from getting slimy.

The bleach will kill the algae and you can start fresh.
