Sorry if this has been asked before!
We have a lg coop with both ducks and chicks. We built an automatic watering system for them with a small collection dish at the bottom. Works great for drinking water.
I want to provide my ducks with a baby pool or larger water supply so tgey can submerg their heads, but I am worried about the chickens drowning.
Any suggestions?

I have my 3 baby ducks in my chook pen. I've got a clam shell kids pool for them although I did have to put a bit of broken foot path slab in as a ramp cause they couldn't get out . My chicken s drink from the edge ok more than there water bowl.

Well I pulled out a baby pool today and set it up for my ducks. My ducklings are about 6-7 weeks old and not nearly as tame as my chickens. I gathered up my 2 khakis and put them in the pool. Needless to say they just freaked out and flipped over the side. I did put steps up to the one side and a step in it so they can get out.
My adult female pekin I have had since she was less than a week old. She is a year now and never allowed us to handle her. Our pond is completely dried up and I know she would love to take a swim. Any pointers on enticing her to the baby pool?

If you put a pond in trust me they will go in. My baby clam shell poolwas broken so I brought a prosper round fish pond. Before I had a chance to fill it they were in it it was only bout 5cm deep and they were splashing dipping they went mad now it's full they love it. They worked out it's way beta than the drinking bowl.

My ducks & chickens range together during the day - in addition to the kiddie pool for the ducks, I put out some buckets of water for the ducks. Chickens have never come close to jumping or falling in the duck water. Though, they do love to drink the stuff - yuck!
