Watering Station

I use the vertical nipples, mine didn't like the horizontal ones... too hard to push.

They were already spoiled by having the vertical nipples... they pecked at the horizontal one a few times then went to the vertical one and yes it was freezing cold and I was desperate to get a water system to work at 1°F.

Yeah, I know, I was just pickin' on ya.
Best to train to new nipples when temps are not extreme.
It's crazy, some birds pickup on the HN's immediately,
some seem to take fore.ev.er.
 
In addition to fresh clean waters in the coop, there is always/year-round large, thick, black plastic horse/livestock grain/water non-tip bowls outside in their run. In the winter the black heats up with morning sun for drinking water & in the summer heat the containers are shallow enough for the chickens to stand in or run thru & cool off. I just broom them out to clean, rinse & refresh water every other day.
