Watermelon

Is there any part of a watermelon fruit that chickens and ducks can't eat? I'm wanting to give my chickens my leftover watermelon, including the most outer part.

They will eat only the parts that they like.

Mine love it too. I actually just gave them one a couple hours ago. They won't eat the rind either.

My geese and chickens only eat down to the outer rind but love watermelon and swarm me when they see it.

They just don't like it. Very little will actually hurt them and you're not likely to find it in your local grocery store.

I don't give my birds melon flesh(that's for me!),
just the parts that I won't eat...
...they will eat everything but the very outer rind/skin.

If you do feed them watermelon flesh,
don't be surprised by the reddish/purplish juicy poops it will generate.
