Watermelon

I have heard so many times that chickens like water melon, so tonight I cut up a few pieces and put it in there run on a paper plate.
They wouldn't go near it.
I even sprinkled some bird seed (there favotrite) on it to try and get the tast in there mouth, but they wouldn't hear of it.
Has anyone else tried and failed and things they are supposed to like.

NAH! mine dont like watermelon, strawberry, potatoes. can u believe? dont like potatoes lol
they do like grass clippings and spaghetti. oh boy how they love it.

That's weird!! Mine love watermelon. They even eat the rind!

mine tear up watermellon they will quickly eat it down were there is nothing left but a paper thin green skin

I originally started w/three EE I got when they were 2 weeks old. I kept them on crumbles only till they were about 6 weeks. They would not eat any treat! My next batch of 7 (BO, Dom, Au, Jersey) were given small amounts of treats from about 1 week on. The 7 are now about 7 weeks old, and they have taught the older EE the joys of watermelon, strawberries, and even spinach! I just don't think the older EE knew what to do with these exotic foods!!

Mine love watermelon, if you let them will steal it right off you plate, yours just have not tasted it yet when 1 get a hold of it and finds out its good they won't be able to leave it alone.

It took a couple of days for our girls to decide they loved watermelon. They are rather cautious about new things.

The Watermelon and Cantelop do not last too long around here.

At the end of the day all i see is a thin skin and some of them are still pecking at it !
