Watermelon..........

THis morning I brought my chickens some strawberries, watermelon, grapes, and blueberries!

Mine won't get within three feet of it.

ha ha my polish love watermelon.. and they put their whole head in it and all their feathers get all wet.. It is sooo funny.. mine love it too.. it is nice too I can put cold rinds out there for them and it is a cool treat.

the only problem I had with it-is that one of my roos got it on his neck-and his girls picked his feathers off! That pen has been on the "no melon " list since.But I got one this week-and cut it tonight -and was quite surprised.It is yellow inside! so he and his girls got the first piece of rind!

Mine are so violently in love with watermelon, that the juice flies everywhere. It is absolutely hilarious. Grapes are a close second for my girls.

Our multitude of blackberry bushes are starting to ripen. It'll be interesting what they do to them. We've already acknowledged that everything below the one and a half foot line will probably belong to them.

I'll have to try the watermelon on them. I gave them a bunch of cherries that fell from our tree yesterday after I picked the pits out of them. They stood there screaming at them for a few minutes until one got brave enough to grab one and run. Then the game was on and cherries were flying. They chased each other a good half hour with those cherries. Lots of fun!
