watery/closed eye...HELP!!

We keep finding our chickens with one of their eyes swollen shut. It looks really teary and watery. Each one that we find ends up dying! We've been putting eye drops in thier eyes but it doesn't seem to be helping at all. If anyone can help us please do!! we really don't want to lose any more chickens. Please help ASAP!!
