watery eve

i have a chicken that has a watery eve only one and she has been on anti biotics 12 days the medicine is terramcyn any ideas

There have been a lot of post this week re: watery eyes and other symptoms to go along with it. Some are having problems with "wet pox" which seems to invade the eyes. If your infection is viral, antibiotics won't cure it but may prevent bacteria from setting up in the affected area undeer stress. Viruses usually run their course in 2 weeks. Now what about the rest of your flock?

You might try some "VetrX". You can use as directed or just the way I've used it. I pour some on a cotton ball and rub the chickens entire comb and face, then rub under each wing, then rub the scales on both legs with the cotton ball before throwing the cotton ball away. Next, I hold the chickens head way back, holding the beak open until I see the two "Nostril Holes" inside the throat in the top. Drop 2 drops of VetrX in the roof of the mouth. One in each nostril if you can. If you miss one of the nostrils don't worry. You can do it again the next day. I have also used "Vicks" Salve on the combs, face and under the wings with good results. if your chickens just have a "Cold", this will work. If they have "Corzra" it may not help. Main thing is to isolate any sick fowl from the main flock.
