I just noticed a little watery fluid run out my 8 month old pullet BRock's nose. Is this normal or should I be concerned? She acts fine but she jumped up in my lap and wanted me to pet her so maybe she was trying to let me know something???

Could she just have a little cold? I dewormed them last week (wazine) and also had a couple of eggs that I found that were VERY thin-skinned (not like a shell at all and it tore easily) Are these side effects from Wazine?

Re the soft shell egg .... That would probably be low calcium. What is her diet? She should have free choice oyster shell available. Maybe you could try a 1/2 Tums crushed up for a quick calcium dose.

I feed layer pellets w/ the highest protein, I think it's 14%? I also mix a little oyster shell in with their food but I will start sitting a bowl out at all times I guess. I get 6 eggs a day right now but had 1 soft one for 2 days in a row and no more in a few days. (They are all back hard again).

I let everyone out to free-range during the day and fill their feeders up inside. I do have one feeder that has grower/starter (medicated) in it for the younger ones (born 6/1) and sometimes the hens come in and go into the back room and get into that, they like to still eat that. Is that bad?
.....leaving different kinds of food out?
If my laying hens are eating that chick starter/grower med food, should I not be eating their eggs?

I mix all kinds of treats up a couple of times a week ..... (grapes, strawberries, peaches, tomatoes, cucumber, scrambled egg, cheese, oatmeal) ????

I just hope one doesn't get an egg broke inside her...that scares me.
I don't see how those two got sqeezed out without doing just that.

But what about the watery nose?????? anybody else?????
