I have a six-year-old white Wyandotte. For the last few weeks, her poos have been very wet. Lots of liquid white with brown solid in it. No blood or yellow. Just liquid white and brown. She does have normal, though soft, poos throughout the day. Her poos are the most liquid in the morning. She had a fecal float several weeks ago, and all was good; no signs of parasites or bacteria.
She is very active, still eating and drinking, and lays about one egg per week. She free ranges several hours a day in my garden. I wish I could say this is an isolated incident, but we go through this at least several times a year with her. I've tried adding vinegar to her water, one tablespoon per gallon, for 5-7 days. I've also tried treating with Rooster Booster. The watery poos keep coming back. She may need an antibiotic, but I don't want to give one without good cause.
Has anyone else experienced this? We have an avian vet about 30 minutes away, and I will probably make an appointment. I'm just wondering if there is something I could be missing that I could try on my own. She is a very loved, sweet pet chicken, and I want to help her.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
