wats a good brown egg layn breed of chicken besides golden comets?

The black australorps can go broody, I have one right now raising 13 replacement chicks right in the flock, my first on ever. But two of her sisters, have no interest at all in being broody. Good layers, nice size egg very quickly. Calmer personality

I haven't had a problem with Australorps going broody. They are great brown egg layers and very docile chickens. Are you looking for a chicken with long term laying ability or short term? Some breeds are great short term layers, especially the production breeds but they stop laying earlier than others. While some breeds like the Barred Rock, Delaware etc, can lay for many years but might not be as prolific of a layer.
