Oh, so cute!View attachment 4284650
Mama Fuzz is from the first batch of chicks we started with. She has been our number one mother hen, hatching & raising many clutches. She is an excellent mother and we can always count on her. She has hatched many eggs but she has also taken in young chicks we've purchased- she loves any baby she can get. She has raised all kinds of birds including bantams (sebrights & silkies) and even turkeys. We love her to pieces and appreciate her so much- hatching & raising babies in a brooder is my worst nightmare so having a good broody hen who we can count on is worth her weight in gold at our place.![]()
She sounds like the best mother hen ever.Peck is lovely. Did you train her to jump up?View attachment 4284655
I got Peck, an EE, as a chick in 2020. She is the last one of my original 3, and is definitely my favorite. Although she doesn't like to be picked up, it's ok, because as soon as I sit, she jumps up on my lap. She snuggles her head under my elbow, and falls asleep as she gets petted. I absolutely love her!
Ledo is very handsome, and doesn't look mean at all! How did you come by him?Entry 1

This is Ledo, a 3 year old sapphire gem rooster. Many may argue that he has a mean look in his eye, but Ledo can't even form a mean thought in that little brain of his. The only thing that he dislikes in this world is his arch enemy, Benny, who steals his girls. Ledo has the most gentlest soul and loves his girls with all his heart. He likes his humans, too, and will gently preen your hair when he hops up on your back. He has had many children, all who take after their dad with their sweet demeanor. I love him so very much and I pray that he lives a joyful life for many more years to come.
